About me
I’m an academic editor and language coach based in Connecticut. Since 2012 I’ve helped native and non-native scholars in the humanities and social sciences turn rigorous and innovative research into clear, publishable prose in English, no matter its original language.
I hold a Ph.D. in Hispanic Studies from Brown University, along with professional certificates in proofreading, line editing, copy editing, and developmental editing. I’ve edited dissertations, journal articles, book manuscripts, syllabi, grant materials, and tenure portfolios, and I’ve done freelance copy editing for Cambridge University Press. Because I write and edit just as readily in Spanish as in English, I know from the inside what it takes to sound clear, correct, and idiomatic in a language that isn’t your first.
Away from the desk, you’ll find me making music (I’m a classically-trained flutist), building things out of wood, losing board games to my children, making a happy mess in the kitchen, or with my nose in a book, all of which is fueled by far too much Earl Grey.
